The Cohabilitated Master program Economics and Public Policy (EPP) is a joint program gathering three outstanding international institutions: EcolePolytechnique (X), Ecole Nationale de la Statistique et de l'Administration Economique  (ENSAE) and Sciences Po. The program focuses on the economic analytical and quantitative tools to design and evaluate public policies.

This Master program is devised to meet the needs of governmental organizations, international organizations and public agencies for highly skilled economic policy-makers with strong quantitative backgrounds. It also meets the needs of people working in the private sector with governments, for instance in banks, consultancy, public-private partnerships, public affairs or non governmental organizations.  Students can also choose to enroll into a PhD in economics. The PhD program is particularly relevant for students intending to have top-level careers in international organization or academic careers.

The cohabilitated degree is a two-year program. The first year is devoted to the acquision of economic and quantitative skills. All the core courses take place at Ecole Polytechnique. The second year is devoted to advanced courses in economics and to field specialization in economic policy. The core courses take place at Ensae and Sciences Po. The students do an internship of 4-6 months during the first year and write a master thesis during the second year.

Why choosing EPP cohabilitated with X and ENSAE? This mater gathers the leading international researchers and professionals in economic policy. The master is entirely taught in English, a significant proportion of students come from top international universities. This master has excellent track records for job placement, providing a unique combination of high professional and research skills.

  • Ideal Candidate: Ideal candidates are students with an engineer background or students who have already been well trained in econometrics and quantitative economics during their undergraduate studies and who want to specialize in the modelization and evaluation of public policy. This master is designed for students who want to pursue in a PhD.
  • Specificity compared to the Sciences Po Master in Economic and Public Policy: the focus is more on mathematical derivation and technical skills to modelize and evaluate economic policies. In particular, the first year mix students with engineers from Ecole Polytechnique and require strong quantitative skills.
